Getting to Cesky Krumlov

By Car from Prague

Cesky Krumlov is located approximately 180 km south of Prague . The easiest route to Cesky Krumlov  is via highway D1 to Brno. At Exit 21 take right onto E 55 and continue in the direction of Linz, Ceske Budejovice and Benesov.  E55 will take you to through the cities of Tabor and Ceske Budejovice.  Continue on E55 to the end of Kamenny Ujezd and then turn right onto road number 39 which will  take you all the way to Cesky Krumlov.

By Car from Brno

Cesky Krumlov is about 240 km distant from Brno. The best way to get to Cesky Krumlov from Brno is via highway D1 leading to Prague.  At Exit 90 turn left onto road E551 in the direction of Pelhrimov.  Just before entering  Pelhrimov turn right onto road number 19 in the directions of Stary Pelhrimov and Dubovice. Continue on road number 19 to the turn-off for the Cernovice, which  you will get to on road number 128. In Cernovice turn right onto road number 136 which will take you to Sobeslav where you turn left  onto road E55. Continue on E55 through Ceske Budejovice to the end of Kamenny Ujezd where you turn right onto road number 39 which will then take you the rest of journey to Cesky Krumlov.

By Bus from Prague

There are several bus coach companies running between Prague and  Cesky Krumlov. The most popular is Student Agency. Their buses depart from Prague from the Bus Station Na Knizeci every odd hour starting at 5:00 am (5:00, 7:00, 9:00 etc.). The journey with Student Agency takes 3 hours.  The current bus schedule is available here. You can use Student Agency's online reservation system to secure your tickets.

By Bus from Brno

There is no direct bus route from Brno to Cesky Krumlov. You have to change at Ceske Budejovice. The journey takes about 4 hours and 40 minutes and the distance is 255 km. You can get to Ceske Budejovice with the  CSAD Jihotrans coach company and then continue to Cesky Krumlov on a Student Agency bus or CSAD Autobusy Ceske Budejovice bus.

By Train

If you travel by train from Prague or Brno you will have to make a change at Ceske Budejovice. The fare from Prague to Cesky Krumlov is 250 CZK (approx. 10 EUR) and journey takes approx. 4 hours. Unless you love trains you will find a bus more efficient. Traveling on a train from Brno takes about 7 hours and the fare is around 330 CZK (approx. 13EUR).
